I Have to Stock Up On Fishnets and Tattoo Chokers – The Hardy Boyz Are Back Together

The crowd went wild on AEW Dynamite last night when Jeff Hardy showed up to save the day for his brother. The Hardy Boyz are together again!

Jeff Hardy finally debuted in AEW after weeks of rumors and speculation since his departure from WWE. The old Hardyz music hits during an episode of Dynamite, and Jeff Hardy runs in to save his brother Matt Hardy, Sting, and Darby Allin. He even gets his little hip thrust dance in while he’s coming down the ramp. And suddenly I’m a kid again without a care in the world.

If you are a wrestling fan, and have been one since a young age, something happens to you and your love of the sport along the way. As you get older, the magic gets lost just as anything else in life. You get busy and fall in and out of love with the sport while you are trying to navigate the real world. Wrestling is just different through the eyes of a child. And if you get too close to the business, it turns into something else full of drama, politics, and all the wickedness that comes with it.

But, sometimes certain moments happen in the business that ignites that spark again. When the people who are putting on the shows remember what it feels like to have a pure love of wrestling, they can fuel that flame – even if just for a moment.

Watching the Hardyz wrestle has always been an escape. They’ve told countless stories in the business over the years across various promotions. Stories about family bonds, overcoming the impossible, not conforming, and being an icon for the weirdos out there. Sitting in front of the TV with a plate of Hamburger Helper and a Mondo after a long day of school waiting for RAW to come on was a safe space. The world couldn’t touch me with the possibility of seeing a Hardy Boyz match.

The fire inside of us all was lit again after seeing Matt and Jeff in the same ring and embracing after years of being apart. Plus, witnessing the Hardyz across the ring from Darby Allin and Sting brought on so many emotions, possibilities and history. We all want the Hardyz to succeed, be healthy and happy, and finish their career as they started: together. And if us adult wrestling fans with too many responsibilities and burdens can escape again during a classic Hardyz match then, even better.
