Primm, Nevada was the site of the 2022 Stateline Supermoto Anthony Hart Memorial Race and Round 1 of the 2022 AMA Supermoto series this past weekend. Riders from across the country, along with a few from Europe, flocked to Buffalo Bills Resort & Casino for the $25,000 cash prize up for grabs in the Open Pro class. The weekend’s schedule of events provided action and excitement for the fans as the minis, womens, vets, quads, and more amateur classes took to the fast, sweeping track before the pro riders had their moment in the spotlight.

In the Monkey House Racing 250 Pro (Lites) class, Joshua Mclean swept both moto victories of the weekend for the overall win. Charlie Buffum and Christian Payne found themselves swapping podium positions in moto 1 and moto 2 for second and third place respectively, with Austin Pecoraro and Ryan Samp rounding out the top 5.

Sunday was the big day for the main event, where more than twenty riders stacked the grid for their shot at victory in the Anthony Hart Memorial Pro 450 class. Leading into the race, all eyes were on reigning 2021 AMA National champion Dustin Hoffman and last year’s runner up – the three time World Supermoto champion – Lukas Hoellbacher.
With support from KTM, Hoellbacher took a quick step away from manning Austria’s oldest bakery and made the long trek over to the southwestern US to compete against the fastest Supermoto racers in the western hemisphere.

When the green flag waved, Hoellbacher found himself shuffling with six time AMA Supermoto National champion Gage McAllister. McAllister won the quick dash into the first turn and plowed his way forward, looking to open a gap between himself and the rest of the field.

Heading into the dirt section on lap two, Lukas Hoellbacher boldly revved his KTM past McAllister and charged ahead. The number 25 machine of McAllister tried to keep Hoellbacher within reach, but he had his hands full as Dustin Hoffman began pushing for the second podium position.

The American duo of Hoffman and McAllister continued to push as the laps counted down, making this no easy day for the accomplished Austrian, but Hoellbacher’s consistent speed and stability allowed him the victory with a twelve second lead. This was his second win of the weekend after already finishing first in the Vet 25+ class on Saturday.

At the checkered flag, it was Dustin Hoffman just edging out Gage McAllister for second place as Shane Narbonne came across in fourth.

The battle for fifth place was hard fought as Bronson Pearce, Sean Butterman, Joshua Mclean and Alberto Moseriti clashed for nearly the entire race. In the end, Pearce secured the fifth spot ahead of the others who finished sixth through eighth respectively, while Brady Tausan and Tim Velasquez finished ninth and tenth.

We are extremely glad to see the sport of Supermoto thriving in the US, and look forward to the rest of the 2022 season. For more on the AMA Supermoto series, visit www.amasupermotonational.com and get involved in the fun!
