Podcast: It Is Already Way Too Hot in Nashville

I’m always that guy that makes fun of people when they say “it’s too hot” or “it’s too cold” here in the great metropolitan region of Nashville, Tennessee. “Before you know it, you’ll be complaining about how cold it is,” I say to friends and family in the summer time…partly to mock their pointless complaining, partly an existential acknowledgement of the inevitability of the rapid passing of time. Maybe it’s a wink and a nod to our own mortality. But, that’s not the point I’m trying to set up. Point is, I try my best not to complain about the weather because it really does change so quickly, and let’s be real. Let’s zoom out for just a bit – what’s the point of complaining about the weather? It’s not like we can change it! Or, can we?

Anyway, I’m calling an audible here, and I am absolutely complaining-about-this-heat guy today. For real? I did some yard work yesterday, and while I acknowledge that I was indeed outside for a grand total of six hours, it’s still just mid-May. We’re at least a month ahead on the misery scale in this town. I’m usually not sweating buckets like that mowing the lawn until mid-June. SMDH.

Thankfully, we have a podcast to discuss such things. Our very own Cryptid Queen, Rooster, joined me on this week’s episode of the SoBros Power Hour, on which we talk about this heat and humidity like two old men enjoying their breakfast at Hardee’s at 6AM every morning. Then, we shift gears and I get Rooster’s opinion on that person renting a shed in their back yard in East Nashville for $1,000/month, Coyote Ugly, Southern Grist, going to jail for 30 years for a crime you didn’t commit, and much more!
