Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…
Question:
@SoBrosNetwork For the 5/13 mailbag: Have you ever done a beer mile? Or if you’re a true Tennessee bad ass, then do a beer row (2000m row, drink a beer at 0-500-1000-1500 splits).

Answer:
I can’t say I’m a true Tennessee badass, my friend. Asking me to do a 2000M row given how out of shape I’ve gotten recently is practically asking my heart to explode, alcohol or no alcohol.
I actually had to Google the beer mile because I couldn’t remember exactly what it was – I’m glad I did because it most definitely was not what I thought it was. For those of you who might not know, Wikipedia has us covered:
A beer mile is a 1-mile (1.6 km) drinking race combining running and speed drinking. Typically, the race takes place on a standard 400-metre or 1/4-mile running track. The race begins at the 1-mile starting line with the consumption of a 12-US-fluid-ounce (355 ml) beer, followed by a full lap around the track. The second lap continues in a similar manner; another 12-ounce beer is consumed before commencing the running of the second lap. This process is repeated for the next two laps. Following the completion of the fourth running lap (and four beers), a competitor has finished the race.
Yeah, now while I haven’t done a beer mile, I definitely think I could handle that. That is much more my speed. There’s no telling how long it would take me to run it, but I think I could do it. Either way, I think we definitely have our next group content idea. Maybe we can factor this into the SoBros Beer Olympics whenever they actually happen.
