If you’ve been reading SoBros Network long enough, then you already know that I am a diehard fan of a good old fashioned zany caper. Well folks, I’m tellin’ ya – get the Benny Hill music cued up for this one. This one trickled across the old Twitter feed over the weekend, and I knew I had to share it with the world. I can never pass up a fan on the field video, at least when we get good quality footage like this one. This took place at an Arizona Diamondbacks game, and I’m never one to call for someone’s job, but it might be time to start looking for an upgrade on the security team.

Tough scene for Diamondbacks security. I think our Tweeter here said it best – “worst security performance of all time.” This guy is just going on a leisurely jog and security can’t wrangle him up! I mean, security looks like they’re running through quicksand here. Were they instructed to just let the guy wear himself out? Was that the strategy here? ‘Cause I just can’t explain it.
I have a hard time imagining what I would do in that situation as a player, too. Notice how this guy ran right around one, and he made the admittedly smart decision to skip away from him to see how this thing was going to play out. But, on one hand, you never know what someone’s intentions are when they storm the field, and you never know how dangerous they are or what a threat they pose to your safety and the millions of dollars you’re earning by being healthy. On the other, opportunities to just completely jack someone up without consequence are few and far between. I’m not too proud to admit that there’s at least a little part of me, a voice in the back of my head if you will, that would think I could absolutely drop the truck stick on a fan. This is the kind of substantive content that just makes you go “hmmm…” Intelligent food for thought.
