The weather is finally cooling off, Spirit Halloween is open, and we are starting to see pumpkins pop up in stores across Middle Tennessee. Spooky Season 2022 is upon us.
There are A LOT of events happening in the month of October. To be honest, it was a bit overwhelming trying to put this list together. But, that is obviously a good thing and that means there’s something for everyone!
Haunted Houses
- Slaughter House – A classic must-do haunt in the Nashville area.
- Creepy Hollow Woods – An indoor and outdoor attraction that is one of my favorites of all time.
- Bloody Acres Haunted Woods – A trail deep in the woods where you will find you will find classic horror movie characters at every turn

Festivals and Parties
- Spooky Ghoul Festival – East Nashville’s spookiest event. Going down on Vinyl Tap this year. They are also putting on An Evening of Terror at the East Room, so be sure to follow them for more details.
- Bell Witch Fall Festival – We are thrilled that this festival is returning for 2022. In addition to cave and cabin tours, they are also having performance events all month. Their Facebook has all the details.
- Pumpkin Fest in Franklin – The 37th year! I have been told that this event is a must-do for any Nashvillian. I’m hoping I can actually make it down there for 2022.
- She’s Lost Control – If you are looking for a party, keep up with the SLC Halloween happenings in October on their Instagram.
- Fright Fest at Rocketown – A Halloween event for the young folk!
There are SO many festivals and parties happening in the Nashville area this year and if I listed them all you would still be reading this article on Christmas day.
Haunted Tours
- Canoe the Caney Haunted Canoe Trip – What a great idea from Canoe the Caney. It starts as a walking tour of the military recreation base then you paddle on to “cemetery grove”.
- Tennessee State Museum Haunted Storytelling Festival – Ghost stories, snacks, art, and activities. This event seems like a blast for any age.
- Nashville Ghost Tours – Nightly Spirits has been featured in publications across the country, and they offer a couple of different options for haunted tours. The Booze and Boos Tour has my particular attention.
- Ghost Tours at The Hermitage – Another Nashville classic. The ghost tours go quick so plan your trip now.
Have a safe and spooky season!
