My Prediction for Stetson Bennett’s Career Trajectory

What is Stetson Bennett's ceiling in the NFL?

Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett has had quite the career trajectory. I’m not sure if you’ve heard about it by now, but he was actually a walk-on at Georgia before transferring to the juco ranks, and then transferring back to Georgia. Not sure if that’s been mentioned anywhere or not. He also happens to be a back-to-back reigning National Championship quarterback. They’re 29-1 over the course of the last two seasons. And now, Bennett is closing this chapter of his life in preparation for the next level.

I don’t know where or how, but somewhere along the way, I developed a bias against Bennett. I will own that. I think it’s from this deep-seated notion that he’s not really all that good, but has been carried by an A+ supporting cast. I let it bleed into my brain and affect my judgment. I actually picked Georgia to lose twice in 2022 back before the season started because I thought we were collectively Joe Flacco’ing Bennett, and overreacting to a legendary hot streak.

Now that the NFL Draft is approaching, I’m beginning to wisen up though. Does Bennett have the best arm in this class? No. Was he wildly inconsistent before this meteoric rise over the last two years? Absolutely. Is he as frail and slender as a baby? Yes, but so is Bryce Young – so what? None of that stuff matters. All that matters is that Bennett is a winner, and he continues to prove idiots like me wrong.

So, after all of the hating and criticizing I’ve done, I’m hopping on the bandwagon. I’ve landed on this prediction: he’s going to be the greatest NFL quarterback of all time. I can’t doubt this guy anymore. It’s time to evolve my opinions, adapt, and become a smarter football writer. That’s what I’m doing here today with my heart in my hands. I apologize, Stetson Bennett. It is now clear to me that this guy is going to go on to become the next Tom Brady. There you have it – you heard it here first on SoBros Network.
