SunnyD Vodka Seltzer Is a Thing Now

Folks, are we doing Sunny D vodka seltzer or nah?

I regret to inform you all that I am not a SunnyD guy. I apologize to anyone this may offend, but I just can’t do it anymore. I don’t have the constitution for it. You have to be a special kind of tough to enjoy a SunnyD with a 36-year-old stomach. It just tastes like straight chemicals. It’s not citrus of any kind I’ve ever had. Now, when I was a kid, SunnyD was a treat. I dare say it was even a delight…a sunny delight, if you will. I could’ve downed a gallon of it and not missed a beat. That’s probably why the lining of my stomach has eroded and I can’t have two sips of orange juice without getting heartburn these days.

As an adult who recently tried to drink SunnyD to bring back the nostalgia of his youth, it tastes like it could power a lawnmower. Outspoken Owen Reed did remind me when we talked about this on a recent episode of the SoBros Power Hour that SunnyD was originally marketed with “the power of the sun.” What was I expecting? Fair point. Now, it looks like the folks at SunnyD are coming out with some vodka seltzers, and I’m honestly frightened by them. SunnyD tastes like someone juiced and orange over some lava fresh out of a volcano. You add vodka to it, and I feel like my heart is going to explode. I’m either going die trying that, or I’m going to turn into the Incredible Hulk and there’s no in between.

But, I’ll do just about anything for content. So, will I try these on camera if we can ever find them? You bet. Owen even suggested SunnyD Vodka Seltzer mimosas, and why not? I’ve lived a good life. We’re going to do a little bit of actual live journalism here, too. Brittany Fernandez got out in the field this weekend looking for this stuff since it was supposed to hit the Walmart shelves over the weekend. No luck so far, but I think we’re all going to keep looking. This is to big of a news story to not document.
