Alright, folks – we are ready to kick off our annual Offseason Content plan here on The Unofficial Titans Podcast! As some of you may already know, each summer, beginning after the Memorial Day holiday and concluding after Independence Day, Owen, some special guests, and I chit chat about the history of the Tennessee Titans and some of the biggest moments and key figures in the franchise’s history. This summer, we’re getting things started with a deep dive into the rivalry between the Titans and the Los Angeles Chargers (and San Diego Chargers).
On the surface, it might not seem like much of a rivalry. It’s not like there’s bad blood boiling over between these two franchises. These games aren’t usually a street fight the likes of which you usually see between the Titans and Baltimore Ravens. But, there’s such a rich history of just plain bad luck for the Titans in this rivalry that it makes it really interesting to dive into. You start looking back at some of the contests between these two teams, and they’re so incredibly fluky. I can’t help but wonder if there’s some sort of voodoo on the Titans in this match-up.
On the premiere episode of Offseason Content 2023, Owen and I take a deep dive into the history between these two teams including a dominant streak from the Chargers, LaDainian Tomlinson giving Titans fans a gut punch, the Christmas day beatdown, and a heartbreaker in London. I promise it’s fun….but like…especially if you’re a masochist. LFG!
