We’ve done a lot of really cool stuff and some really fun stuff throughout the 10 years we’ve been working on SoBros Network. But, for all I’ve done, the chemistry we’ve built on ‘Drinking With…’ and the depths to which we explore film history may be the most fun I have doing podcasts. That’s right – there’s just something about this show that tends to bring out the electricity in the three of us like none other. But, this show also gives me the opportunity to go back in time and watch some of the most important and iconic films of the last few decades that I might have missed along the way.
That’s how I feel about this month’s episode on Adaptation. I had always heard tale of the dual performance that Cage put in and how fantastic it was. But, if you haven’t seen this film, I can’t do it justice with words. You just have to see it. Give him all of the Oscars. I found this movie to be poetic, flirting with stinging satirical social commentary, a winding plot, a powerhouse cast, dry deadpan humor, and a movie that says something while telling a good story. An instant classic in my household, even if my wife did let out a sigh of relief once the film was over. For the Flower Show, you’ll need:
-1 egg white
-2oz gin
-1/2oz crème de violette
-1/2oz Cointreau
-1oz fresh lemon juice
To make it:
-Fill a shaker with ice
-Add ingredients
-Shake until frothy
-Strain into a cocktail glass
