The practice of hunting for treasured physical media is alive and well out in Mount Juliet, Tennessee in case you haven’t heard of or visited Danger Zone Video. If you have, then you already know the thrill of walking in those doors not knowing what you’ll find the shelves stocked with since your last visit. If not, well, check out this story that Forrest Sanders did for News Channel 5 back in May. Danger Zone specializes in home entertainment, mainly VHS with some DVDs and Blu-Rays sprinkled in. Personally, my favorite way to shop at Danger Zone is on a lazy Friday night after the hustle and bustle of the work week has subsided. Go pick up a new movie or two, maybe a book, catch up with my friends Brittany and Jesse. Then, move on to Smiley Thai or Memo’s for a hearty dinner. That’s the good life, baby!
Because of an awful lot of blood, sweat, and tears, and the support of the community they serve, they’ll be opening up in a new…bigger…location this weekend! Fret not, patrons – it’s pretty much just a couple doors down from the old location. To celebrate, they’re calling in friends from Vulture Circus and Woodberry Bakes to set up in the store on Saturday. And, yours truly will be there on Sunday to sell off some of this Funko Pop collection that has gotten incredibly out of hand.
We’re alive! Reopening this Friday 11-6.

I’ve been collecting Funkos for the better part of seven years now. I don’t know why – I just always have to have something to chase and collect. Every time I buy a new one, I say to myself, “oh it’ll sit in my collection for awhile and then I’ll sell it.” The problem with that is that I never do sell them. I’m not the biggest eBay fan, and I haven’t made the time to get these things photographed and listed on Facebook. So, here we are! I was complaining about it to Brittany and Jesse one day and they said, “we gotta get you in the shop soon.” I’m ecstatic to see that day has finally come.
I’ve snapped some photos of my collection that WILL be for sale on Sunday – you’ll notice a lot of Marvel, a lot of Disney, and a lot of WWE. But, please – feel free to take a look and see if there’s anything you’re interested in. I feel like I’ve accumulated a little bit of everything through the years. I haven’t gotten around to pricing everything yet (going to be a fun, late Friday night), but prices will be based on Pop Price Guide values. The only difference is that I’ll charge less on some of these if the boxes are slightly damaged. Not pictured, I have a couple Sodas (Arwen from LOTR and Zombie Spider-Man) and Art Series Pops, a Black Panther chase Wacky Wobbler, some old and new wrestling figures, and entire box of old Goosebumps books. Come see me at Danger Zone Video on Sunday from 11AM-5PM, pick up a Funko Pop, and peruse the physical media haven!
