Sylvester Stallone has been in some of the most financially successful film franchises in cinema history. No one can deny that at the peak of his run in the 80s and 90s, few were as big of a box office draw as he was. From Rocky Balboa to John Rambo, Stallone asserted himself as some of the most beloved characters sewn into the fabric of Americana. Hell, even when The Expendables dropped in 2010, he showed that he still had it. And, that is precisely what brings us to the topic of Stallone on this month’s episode of The Vick’s Flicks Podcast.

The Expendables 4 is in theaters now, so Brandon and I took the opportunity to dig into Stallone’s filmography and the impact he’s had on the movie business throughout the decades. Spoiler alert: there’s a lot that we leave out because Stallone’s filmography started a long time before either of us was born (we’re both 37 years old, and it still feels weird to say we’re babies when stacked up next to Stallone’s filmography). But, we highlight the cultural importance of Rocky, Rambo, and the legacy Stallone has made for himself.
