I know this sounds like the old man yelling at the cloud, but I just have to share my thoughts on this trend that I’ve seen going around all of the social medias. Well, except for Tik Tok….I currently have 100+ notifications on Tik Tok that I haven’t gone through because I haven’t been paying attention to Tik Tok lately. Anyway, I’ve seen it pop up in enough places to know that this is a thing that the kids are doing these days, and maybe I’m showing my age here, but I just don’t understand how it works. I’m so impressed by it. It’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen, and I can’t wrap my head around how humans are just now figuring this out after all the years they’ve been around. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out this clip of a Texas A&M player doing it after scoring a touchdown on Saturday.
He really hit that in cleats 😳 pic.twitter.com/Y9PdAWnIl2

I just don’t understand the physics of this. It’s like an optical illusion – like one of those pictures that just looks like a bunch of dots on a canvas, but if you look at it long enough, suddenly you see a group of dogs playing poker. This thing trips me out so damn bad. It looks like the guy’s floating in front of a green screen. Then, when his teammate chimes in and starts doing it, it makes me feel dizzy and sick to my stomach, like the room is spinning but I’m sitting still.
I want to YouTube how to do this. You can YouTube how to do just about anything these days. But, my problem is that I don’t even know what this is called. I’m so chronically online that I like to think I’m still pretty hip to what’s trendy, and maybe this is a dance from a mumble rap song I just haven’t heard yet. But, I’m in the dark on this one. I don’t even know what to search for to find an instructional video on it. If you know, please let me know. I want to try to learn it for content. They don’t call me twinkle toes for nothin’ and I can always use good Tik Tok ideas because I largely suck at it.
Also, there’s a joke in here somewhere about “that dance you do when the boosters get the money together to buy out your coach so you can hire a new one and maybe start winning some games.” For me, I hope it’s Kliff Kingsbury. Wouldn’t that be the weirdest career trajectory ever?
