Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…

Question:

Answer:

It’s Joe Alt right now, but I’m still riding the high of watching the Clemson tape. Check back again next week. I’m going to try and find some time to watch Olu Fashanu vs. Michigan – I hear it’s the stuff of legend in the run-blocking department.

Question:

Answer:

Sorry Zach, but you will have to subscribe to Stacking The Inbox for that.

I really thought about just leaving that as the answer to this question, but this is a bit of a light mailbag, so I won’t. I’ll give this thing some real juice. I think there are two that are going to be available there in the beginning of the second round that I would love for the Titans to take. One, Jordan Morgan out of Arizona. I actually joked the other day that if the Titans could somehow end up with Marvin Harrison Jr. and Jordan Morgan, they would win the next 10 Super Bowls. But, I absolutely love what this guy brings to the table.

I just recently watched his game against UCLA because I wanted to see that match-up against DL Laiatu Latu (both guys will be at the Senior Bowl and I absolutely cannot wait). Morgan is big, thicc, and quick. He’s a clamp when he gets his hands on guys, and he stays active with his hands in countering pass rush moves. I really do have a full write-up on that game coming to Stacking The Inbox soon, and there’s already one in the queue on my second guy: Troy Fautanu out of Washington.

I’m not sure why so many people are projecting Fautanu to move inside to guard. There’s an element of raw power that’s missing from his game because he does have a smaller frame for a tackle. But, I’d be willing to give him a shot outside. He has good hands, good feet, good get-off, and he uses leverage to win 1:1s to make up for his lack of raw power. I see this guy as a polished prospect who’s ready to compete for a job on Day 1.

Other guys I’m intrigued by include Duke’s Graham Barton, but he may end up being the Peter Skoronski conversation all over again. Most people seem to think he’s actually going to be a center at the next level (which…hey…I’d be cool with that for the Titans too). Also, I really liked the length and the reputation of Patrick Paul, but the tape was a little underwhelming to me. I’ll be curious to see how he performs in Mobile in February too. All in all, if the Titans could end up with some combination of Rome Odunze/Malik Nabers and Jordan Morgan/Troy Fautanu with their first two picks, I’ll be doing cartwheels.

Question:

Answer:

Yeah, Kenneth – I keep seeing this subtly hinted at on draft X, and I don’t think it’s all that wild. Now, I’ll admit that I’ve only scratched the surface on a Nabers eval myself, but I have watched a lot of Marvin Harrison Jr., and I find it hard to believe that anyone in this class is on his level. I also think they’re different receivers. Nabers is a more physical receiver that has raw speed to separate. Harrison is more of the polished route runner. His game is much more nifty than Nabers. I’ll phrase it this way – I think the Titans could take Nabers at #12 and end up being just as happy as if they had gotten Harrison at #3. That make sense?
