Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…

Question:

Answer:

Tough one, but I’m going with the premise of ‘if you’re here on vacation, these are the five spots you need to try to get the real local flavor’:

  • Hathorne – I think Audrey is bar none the best overall dining experience in Nashville, but I feel weird about recommending it to people because it is quite pricy. I land on Hathorne for the fine dining value. One of the best meals I’ve had in this city that didn’t break the bank, and one of the most creative menus in town to boot.
  • Nectar: Urban Cantina – Nashville purists are going to grill me for this because Nectar is technically about 10-15 minutes out of Nashville in Donelson. But, I count it and it’s my mailbag, so fuck it. Nectar rules. Some of my favorite tacos in the area, and an awesome atmosphere to boot.
  • Dino’s – The only real dive bar in Nashville that matters. Arguably the best burger in the entire city.
  • Prince’s/Bolton’s – If you’re going to do Nashville hot chicken, do it at one of the originals.
  • Daddy’s Dogs – There is something inherently Nashville about Daddy’s Dogs. I’m not sure if it’s the decadent hot dogs or what, but it’s a spot that never ceases to amaze me.

Also, on a related note, these are my four favorite individual dishes that I’ve tried so far in Nashville.

Question:

Answer:

I’m going to say the best mini golf player in the world because I love putt putt and if I could take that show on the road and make it my entire life, that would be awesome. I could just live in Gatlinburg and get in reps three times a day every day. Sounds like a good existence to me.

Question, from Ryan on Instagram:

What’s up with morning wood?

Answer:

Man, I don’t know but I am on a Hall of Fame streak of morning wood. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have it, but I also practically have 24/7 wood. Just a hyperactive pp, I guess. I looked it up and I guess there’s some idea out there that when your bladder is full, it pushes on the nerve that regulates blood flow to the pp and that’s what causes it, but I’m no scientist so I can’t say for sure.

Question, from Sean on Instagram:

Tell us how you REALLY feel about Joker: Folie à Deux.

Answer:

Y’all knock yourselves out. Have fun with it. Personally, I will be sitting at home by myself enjoying some peace and quiet instead.

Question:

Answer:

All due respect to Curtis Riley, he just didn’t do enough in the NFL to warrant anything but ‘kill’ among these options. I’m going to fuck Da’Norris Searcy and it’s going to be hot because for a brief moment, he was intensely good for this organization. Long term, I’m marrying Coty Sensabaugh. The most stable Titans of the three.
