When I look back through the grand annals of cinema history and think of actors who were synonymous with a particular role, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine both come to mind. Sure, there are plenty of talented actors that could play either character, but you just don’t know if it would quite be the same. When you read up on just how hard Reynolds worked to get Deadpool done right, and the passion he had for the project, it’s pretty inspiring. When you see just how intense of a place Jackman had to get to to make Wolverine resonate with audiences, it’s pretty inspiring too. To think that we finally get these two sharing a screen (well…we’re not going to count that awful X-Men Origins movie) should put plenty of asses in seats at theaters across the country this weekend.
With Deadpool & Wolverine dropping in just a couple of days at this point, it’s the perfect time to relive our latest episode of The Vick’s Flicks Podcast.
