Guys to Watch: Seahawks at Titans, 8/17/24

After defeating the San Francisco 49ers last Saturday, the Tennessee Titans look to start the preseason 2-0 when the Seattle Seahawks come to town this Saturday. Let’s take what we learned from last week and apply it to this week. Analysis! LFG!

Guys to Watch: Seahawks at Titans, 8/17/24

Chance Campbell/James Williams – I can’t pick one. Don’t make me pick one. Both of these guys played with their hair on fire on Saturday night. We’ve beaten this idea into the ground this offseason, but the Titans need linebacker depth, so it would be gravy for one of these guys to rise up and become a real contributor. They both laid a pretty good foundation last week – what do they do for an encore?

Cole Spencer – Spencer was the most surprising offensive lineman that I watched once the all-22 from Saturday’s game came out. Playing at right guard raised my eyebrows a bit, but hey, maybe the Titans staff isn’t sold on Dillon Radunz and they’re exploring every possible option they have there?!?! Spencer played low in his stance, played with great leverage and hat placement, and he flat out moved dudes. Let’s see if there’s something there.

Jaelyn Duncan – Get your tomatoes ready to hurl at me. I think Duncan actually had some good reps in pass pro against the 49ers. Duncan has been a bit of an enigma this summer, seemingly behind John Ojukwu on the depth chart, but getting run with the second team ahead of Ojukwu in the game. He’s a guy that needs to show some improvement as he fights for a spot on this team. He should get ample opportunity in Saturday’s game against the Seahawks.

Bryce Oliver – I’ve heard tale of the great product of Youngstown State. Let’s see if he can really make the wide receiver race interesting or not. Against the 49ers, I thought Oliver looked pretty savvy for a UDFA rookie – showing nice speed variance to freeze cornerbacks and set up his breaks, good concentration at the catch point, and solid footwork to keep his feet in bounds at the boundary.

Gabe Jeudy-Lally – He’s been a dark horse all summer, but I don’t think anything he did against the 49ers was particularly awe-inspiring. With an opening in the cornerback room, Jeudy-Lally has an opportunity to parlay practice field success into game success this preseason. I expect he’ll get a lot of play this weekend.

Jha’Quan Jackson – I was floored by Jackson’s usage last week. I noticed several plays where he was open but Malik Willis just wasn’t getting him the ball. I’d love to see him get more play and get it with the Mason Rudolph unit this weekend.
