Welcome all degenerate gamblers back into our weekly American football betting column here on the SoBros Network Patreon, Tank the 401k. Call your bookie and empty those retirement accounts (actually, don’t really do that – this is just sarcasm. Our lawyers say we shouldn’t claim to be experts on anything because we’re not)! Each week, the SoBros team up to offer their five locks of the week – obviously, we’re not professionals here so take this advice with a grain of salt and don’t sue us if you piss all of your money away. That’s not our fault. Okay, I think we’re all set here – here are this week’s SoBros gambling picks.
Stoney’s Picks
Don’t have none! It’s been a crazy week. I haven’t begun my prep for the season just yet because things have been moving pretty quickly around here. So, I’ll get in on the fun next week. Thankfully, McCash is a sicko that already has the breakdown for Week 0.
McCash’s Picks
- New Mexico +11.5 – New Mexico opens the season at home introducing a new head coach and will host a tough FCS team in Montana St. MSU should win with little problem but I do not see them winning by two scores as they will rely heavily on their rushing attack keeping the score low and in New Mexico’s favor to cover.
- Florida St. -10.5 – The line to this matchup in Dublin opened with FSU as two touchdown favorite and has been bet down 4 points over the last few weeks. Both Georgia Tech and FSU will struggle early to adapt to the huge time difference as the game will kick off 5 o’clock Dublin time when it’s only noon in Atlanta and Tallahassee. As the game continues the talent difference alone will make way to the Seminoles putting the Yellow Jackets away and easily covering the 10.5 point spread.
- Hawaii/Delaware St. over 57.5 – Much has been made about the long flight taken and not taken to get DSU to Honolulu. The Hornets missed their flight on Tuesday and did not end up flying out until the next morning. The Tuesday flight was a direct flight but due to shuttle issues causing them to miss takeoff Delaware State was forced to take a flight that had three separate connections in order to make it to Hawaii. The let jag alone is enough to love the Rainbow Warriors in this matchup but add that the game is kicking off when it is midnight back on the east coast and the over looks even more like a lock. Hawaii will be ready for the assignment and the Hornets will be too tired turn in their presentation.
- SMU -24.5 – SMU plays its first game as a member of the ACC on the road against a Nevada program that has gone 2-10 in back-to-back years and has hovered around as a 27.5 point favorite until recently. Money has been coming in on the Wolfpack but the Mustangs have to much horsepower for Nevada to truly make a game of this. SMU will be looking to make a statement to the old guard of the ACC so expect the Mustangs to get ahead early and not let off the gas until the final whistle.
