Another year, another Nashville Film Festival in the books. I know most people will read this with furrowed brow, but it can be overwhelming work sometimes. First world problems, I know. But, when you factor in the vast catalog of films that the Nashville Film Festival offers, the planning it takes to successfully execute upon a content plan, and the time you put in actually watching the films and traveling to the venues, it can get pretty tiring after a week. For fucks sake, I have seen our resident film critic Brandon Vick run to his car in the parking lot and smash a Lunchables in 15 minutes in between screenings before. Who ever said being a film critic was easy?
Nonetheless, it’s like the holidays. You see it coming. You anticipate the good times, and just like that…it’s over. One of my favorite parts of it all is when we get the chance to catch our breath, sit down, compare notes, and craft our annual “well that was a blur” episode of The Vick’s Flicks Podcast. This year, we keep the tradition alive by discussing our overall thoughts on the programming, our experiences at the festival and working with their press team, and we dig into the meat of the movies we saw, reviewing all 16 that we watched in the process.
