I make no apologies for my love of House of 1000 Corpses. When I was 17 years old, I though Rob Zombie might’ve been the coolest person on the planet not named Triple H. I’m well aware of its reputation from the critic crowd, but it’s one of those films that I’ve always thought you had to just know what it actually was to judge it fairly. Plus, horror isn’t exactly the critic’s favorite genre. To this day, this is one that I still fire up just about every Spooky Season, so I was ecstatic to hear that McCash had chosen to talk about it on this Spooky Season’s run of ‘Drinking With…’. Pour up a ‘Dr. Satan’ and join the two of us, along with Brittany Fernandez, as we dive into this weird, zany, and ambitious cult classic.
To make the Dr. Satan, you’ll need:
-1oz / London dry gin.
-0.5oz Italian (sweet/red) vermouth.
-0.5oz French (dry) vermouth.
-0.5oz Grand Marnier (or Curaçao if “curled.”)
-0.5oz freshly squeezed orange juice
-6 dashes orange bitters
Combine ingredients, shake with ice, and strain into a chilled champagne glass. Orange twist for garnish.
