Hello, and welcome in to the latest edition of Yankee Candle Reviews here on SoBros Network. I will be your host – the Fragrance Aficionado of SoBros Network, also the EIC, Stoney Keeley. My passion for Yankee Candle began in 2006, when I strolled into the location in Providence Marketplace in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. I picked up a jar of Autumn Woods, and found it captured the essence of the season perfectly. I’ve been hooked in this…well, you could even call it ‘romantic…’ relationship with Yankee Candle ever since. Today, we’re smelling one of Yankee Candle’s newer fall fragrances, Golden Autumn.

Lots of different ‘autumns’ in the Yankee Candle catalog. Autumn Woods, Autumn Wreath, Autumn Leaves, Autumn Daydream…I could go on and on. One of the more recent submissions into the genre is Golden Autumn. I’m all for a fragrance that’s outside the box, so I was eager to give this one a try. The prospects of adding a more floral note to a fall scent was intriguing. Though I don’t think it necessarily played perfectly, I commend the effort. I like the sweetness and the freshness of this candle – it definitely has that “woods in the fall” vibe to it, but I found the floral notes to be a tad overbearing. I started getting a bit of fall vs. spring conflict, and that’s not the right kind of outside the box, in my humble opinion. You just can’t win ’em all, I suppose.

Recommended Burning: Bathing in the warmth of the sun on the riverbank. A gentle breeze blows and you begin to notice the dead leaves, yellow and orange, gently falling to the water, floating on to a final destination of which you can’t foresee. In that moment, a particular carelessness washes over you. You’ve been in the river swimming, water still pooling across your body. In the early stage of fall, it’s just warm enough to enjoy a final swim. But, as the breeze rushes over you, you notice your nipples stand erect. It puts you in the mood to make love, but your partner is back at the camp. There’s nothing to do but to pleasure yourself as the sounds of the forest encourage you.
