Hello, and welcome in to the latest edition of Yankee Candle Reviews here on SoBros Network. I will be your host – the Fragrance Aficionado of SoBros Network, also the EIC, Stoney Keeley. My passion for Yankee Candle began in 2006, when I strolled into the location in Providence Marketplace in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. I picked up a jar of Autumn Woods, and found it captured the essence of the season perfectly. I’ve been hooked in this…well, you could even call it ‘romantic…’ relationship with Yankee Candle ever since. Today, we’re taking a trip to the raspberry patch.
Apologies for the audio issues on this month’s Yankee Candle Review – didn’t realize I didn’t have the mic plugged in for the whole video. Shit happens. Anyway…
There’s a pocket of Yankee Candle offerings that is just hilariously direct. Cinnamon Stick immediately comes to mind…what’s it smell like? Cinnamon stick. Red Raspberry is the exact same way, and while I love its on-the-nose fruitiness and the way it hangs in the air, I can’t help but giggle thinking, “boy, they didn’t take too long to come up with this name.” It’s undoubtedly a summer fragrance, but I have found in all my years of research that it plays surprisingly well around Valentine’s Day. That, along with cherry or strawberry fragrances really appeal to the holiday, playing off the idea of Edible Arrangements and chocolate-covered cherries, I suppose. I don’t know. I’m fucking weird. Just enjoy this candle that smells like exactly what it says it does….red raspberries.
Recommended Burning: You’ve just had a lovely picnic on grandpa’s farm. The sun is beginning to set, you and your partner are feeling particularly frisky, but you’re looking for somewhere to frolic outside of the purview of potential onlookers from the back porch. You settle on the raspberry patch – hidden by a row of pine trees on top of the hill. You roll and roll and roll and oops – your shirt comes off. You roll and roll and roll and oh no – there goes the pants. The next thing you know you are covered in smashed raspberries after smashing your love.
