Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…
Question:
Is it possible the Titans keep 8 WRs
— Scoob (@PAULOLDENBURG11) June 4, 2025
Answer:
What an interesting question, Scoob – the discussion has been about six or seven receivers all offseason, but what if we tip that scale the other direction and ADD one?!?! Let’s work through the numbers at the position. They currently have 13 receivers on the roster – I’d say Calvin Ridley, Elic Ayomanor, Chimere Dike, Van Jefferson, and Tyler Lockett are locks. That gets us to five relatively quickly. Dike could be a returner and add value that way, but from what I’m hearing, he’s impressing so far this summer. I imagine they will want to use him primarily as a receiver and not want him to take those snaps on special teams. Just a hunch…they’ll want a guy from their receiving corps returning kicks and punts. That spot could come down to James Proche II and TJ Sheffield. A few weeks ago, I would’ve been driving the Bryce Oliver bandwagon, but it sounds like his summer is off to a rough start. With such a deep pool of competitors, this ain’t the time to be slippin’ up. Xavier Restrepo is the obvious x-factor here (no pun intended), and I have no idea what to do with Treylon Burks, Colton Dowell, Jha’Quan Jackson, or Mason Kinsey. Being picks from a previous regime, I’d say they’re probably on the outside looking in.
It’s hard for me to get to eight out of that bunch when you factor in the depth they’ll need to develop at linebacker, cornerback, tight end, and along the offensive line. You’re getting into “a 4th TE or an 8th WR?” territory, and I’m not sure the value is there for an 8th WR. I’m going to say they’re going to run with six…the five locks I mentioned and Proche. If they add a 7th, I’m coming around on Restrepo being that guy.
Question:
What career would you rather have, 10 year MLB player making the league minimum ($760,00) and you only play 2-3 a month or R-Truth from WWE making $550,000 but fairly consistent on tv despite making less money?
— McCash (@MC_Cash75) June 4, 2025
Answer:
If you can guarantee me 10 years, I’m taking the money and the lighter workload. I feel like the crux of the question is ‘would you rather have the stability of regular money or consistent exposure?’ and I would typically say ‘well, more exposure creates more opportunities!’ But, how has it created opportunities for R-Truth? Granted, we don’t know what he’s turned down, but it sure seems like the added exposure hasn’t allowed him to branch out beyond the wrestling bubble to make more money. So, with that in mind, I say “give me the money!”
Question:
You’ve watched a ton of film these past few years so I gotta know : Out of them all who is your equivalent to blew chew ? Everytime you turn on said players film your ready to lay the smackdown on someone shortly after
— T.K. (@Tbull22) June 4, 2025
Answer:
Man, I got lost in the sauce on the Puka Nacua tape. I felt like he was the type to get out there and try to drag people down into a knife fight in the mud. Honorable mention goes to Ickey Ekwonu. I know it takes a little bit for tackles to develop these days, and he hasn’t been off to the hottest of starts with the Panthers, but his tape at NC State was a lot of fun. I swear dudes were bouncing off of him. Also, how could I not mention the Tyjae Spears Sugar Bowl vs. USC!??!?
Question:
What do you find to be more sexual in nature? Sabrina Carpenter lyrics/songs or Titans fans reaction to any Cam Ward throws/content
— Andrew Hawkins (@DrewRHawk) June 4, 2025
Answer:
We’re gonna have to start putting content warnings on these Cam Ward reactions!
Question:
What’s your number 1 beef with grocery stores
— Name (@El_Gringo22I) June 5, 2025
Answer:
I don’t know that I necessarily have beef with grocery stores at all. It’s more about the people in the grocery stores. Don’t just leave your shopping cart out in the parking lot. Put it back where it belongs. If I see you just abandoning ship, I will absolutely judge you.
Question:
Will the Titans be competitive this season? Or just meh?
— Ed Helinski 🇺🇸🇵🇱 🌴 (@MrEd315) June 4, 2025
Answer:
It’s hard to say, Ed, but I damn sure can’t wait to find out. Last season was such a drag…I mean, me personally…I felt like the season was over in October. Everything that followed was just empty, hollow football. So, I’m ready to get back to some real meaningful Titans action. The vibes feel like they’re at an all time high right now, for sure. It’s hard for me to not get sucked up into the excitement and relent to the optimism. But, there is that voice in the back of my head saying “everyone has a plan until they’re punched in the mouth.” I think with elevated quarterback play, a healthy defense, and a coaching staff that has been through the rigors of a rookie NFL season and come out on the other side, they have the ingredients to surprise some people.
