Hello, and welcome in to the latest edition of Yankee Candle Reviews here on SoBros Network. I will be your host – the Fragrance Aficionado of SoBros Network, also the EIC, Stoney Keeley. My passion for Yankee Candle began in 2006, when I strolled into the location in Providence Marketplace in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. I picked up a jar of Autumn Woods, and found it captured the essence of the season perfectly. I’ve been hooked in this…well, you could even call it ‘romantic…’ relationship with Yankee Candle ever since. Today, we’re going to enjoy a little togetherness….Sweet Togetherness, to be exact.
By now, you guys should know I’ve been a pretty harsh critic of this Yankee Candle rebrand. I mean, I’m not going to go full Cracker Barrel on this thing, but eventually, if I keep running into this problem of candles not throwing in a relatively small bedroom, I will have no choice but to walk away. I’m just so disappointed by it – Lucky Sweater, Glistening Leaves, and now Sweet Togetherness…they’ve all three had issues with the throw. It used to be that you could pick up a Yankee Candle and the aroma would fill your entire house. Now, I walk into my bedroom and can’t even tell a candle is burning. It’s a massive bummer – I’ve been lighting these candles for the better part of 20 years now. It’s something that relaxes me. It helps me feel festive. And, it’s just downright enjoyable. But, this run I’m on right now with this new wax has not been the Yankee Candle I’ve come to love and know throughout the years.
With this fragrance, I was so stoked because it was so different. I know the description reads “pear” and “citrus.” But to me, I got notes of fig and pipe smoke. It was so incredibly different for a fall candle, while at the same time having a distinctly Autumnal profile. It was one that I thought for sure I’d put in the rotation for every fall moving forward. Now, I don’t know. I’m a little mixed up. This may call for some good old-fashioned soul searching. That….or I’m just going to have to start buying the old Yankee Candles on eBay more regularly. Who knows?
Recommended Burning: I’m trying to be nice and bite my tongue, so I’ll leave this blank this week.
