It’s hard to believe that another year is in the books, man. I swear. Time flies when you’re watching a shit load of movies and then writing or talking about them. Anyway, we’re beginning to wind down a bit for the year here at Nashville Movie Dispatch, but it’s not without going out with the proverbial bang.
For the second year in a row, we have decided to compile all of our best work from this Substack into book form as a way to celebrate and document the year in film. That’s right – the Nashville Movie Dispatch Movie Annual is back for 2025! It features all of Brandon’s reviews, a few posts from friends, and several exclusive features and reviews that we didn’t even post on this Substack! You can only read them in the book! It has a reference section with lists, awards winners, and some other fun stuff. It’s the perfect stocking stuffer for any movie lover you know this holiday season (assuming Amazon can print them and ship them out on time – who knows? I can’t guarantee that).
Personally, I’m proud of the work that we’ve done here. I like to imagine somebody walking into a used bookstore one day and picking this thing up for $3 as a sort of time capsule to step back into what 2025 felt like at the movies. They’ll sit down with it one cozy winter afternoon, and they’ll wonder why the hell this book didn’t sell five million copies. That’s all in my head, anyway.
