I don’t mind saying it – being openly proud of it, if you will. I felt like Rooster and I really hit another gear with Phone It In this year. To be such a vaguely described show, we did well to carve out a catalog that explored it all this year, from history to creepy shit to social phenomenon, we did it all. And, we did it in a way that was true to the spirit with which we launched this show. We just wanted to talk about cool shit and let the fun of a close friendship invite you in. Looking back on it as it stands here today in December, I feel like we accomplished that. So, just as I’m doing with everything else this week, I decided to compile my favorite episodes of Phone It In from 2020!

Best of 2020: Phone It In

Ep. 11: Typhoid Marylink – We recorded this one back at the onset of this whole covid pandemic. And, why not? Typhoid Mary spread her shit all over the place. It was a good case study on just how much damage one person could do.

Ep. 12: Project Blue Booklink – Project Blue Book may have never been taken as seriously as might’ve been warranted, but there’s still a rich history of good old UFO Americana within it. This was a fun one to dig into.

Ep. 13: Disney Theme Park Deaths link – For all their allure, there have been some pretty depressing deaths at Disney theme parks. We decided to hit the highlights (probably not the best word to use) in an effort to get people to stay home during a pandemic instead of bombarding the parks.

Ep. 14: The History of Gatlinburg, TNlink – Gatlinburg is one of my favorite places on Earth – it’s my “peaceful spot,” if you will. Any chance I get to disappear into the Smoky Mountains, you can bet I’m going to take it. But, I never really knew much about the famous vacation town’s history. So, we took on the task of educating ourselves and educating the masses.

Ep. 15: Goblins In Hopkinsville link – The first of two Spooky Season episodes, Rooster and I decided to take a deep dive into the event known as ‘the Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter’ and the little goblin lookin’ creatures that popped up during it. Of course, we explore the important question – what would you do if a little green alien goblin tried to snatch your wig?

Well……I guess we did have a hell of a run there from April-October…
