Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…
Question, from Brittany…on Slack…on Wednesday so she wouldn’t forget to ask me on Thursday:
Pick a movie where you replace all the characters with muppets, except one.
Answer:
I don’t know, but I kind of want a version of The Lighthouse where Robert Pattinson is a normal human and Willem Dafoe is a muppet. That seems fucking trippy. You know what? Give me a muppet version of Knives Out in which Daniel Craig is the only human and he’s trying to sort out this big mystery amongst this family of muppets. But, we’re never going to acknowledge that they’re actually muppets and Daniel Craig is a human. I don’t know why, but Knives Out was recently on my mind. I would accept a version of Drive in which Ryan Gosling is the only human.
Question:
How much bush is too much bush?
— Tom Hanks & the Guilty Pleasures (@SoBroCadbury) June 3, 2021
Answer:
I can never tell which bush you’re talking about, so I’ll give you two answers here.
- If your bushes start to become too intrusive – if they’re extending beyond the flower bed they’re planted in or if they’re starting to encroach upon the house, it’s time to trim ’em.
- If someone can’t E your P or S your D without getting hair stuck in their teeth, it’s time to trim the bush.
Question, from E on IG:
Man, can we just scream for the mailbag edition friday lmao
Answer:
For real – I started this mailbag three years ago as a stupid whim, but now it’s come to signify the arrival of the weekend in a weird way. I’m just happy to be hear and I’m thankful that people are still asking me questions so we can keep running this stuff back.
Question:
Have you tried any of the tiktok food trends? Like the ranch pickles or the flamin hot Cheetos pickles?
— vhs guy (@RighteousJesse) June 3, 2021
Answer:
Dude, food Tik Tok is absolutely one of the best corners of that app. There are so many cooks that I follow that I spend a good portion of each day watching people make food – I love the stale kracker dude…I’m going to buy his cookbook one of these days. Also, can’t remember who, but someone sliced open a brat, put a cheese stick in it, then wrapped it in bacon and threw it on the grill. Can’t wait to try that one out, but so far, I haven’t actually put forth the effort to try any of these viral food trends (definitely not making punch in a toilet either).
I always tell people that Tik Tok isn’t what you think it is, and there is some really good useful content on there. Food Tik Tok is a great example of that. Now, to answer your question – I haven’t even seen the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos pickles yet. I’d be more inclined to try one of those. But, the ranch pickles, while I’ll acknowledge the innovation behind ’em, I can’t get on board with it. It just…I don’t know…I’m not a big ranch guy, so I don’t know how I’d like it. Now, if we’re trying ’em for content? Yeah…I’m in.
Keep the questions coming – catch y’all next week!
