Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…
Question:
Most anticipated summer blockbuster? And what is a remake you have always wanted, but hasn’t happened?
— Nabil Brent Remadna KXAN (@RemadnaKXAN) July 1, 2021
Answer:
It’s two for me – Black Widow (finally) and The Suicide Squad – but I’m willing to acknowledge that I’m a massive comic book nerd, and that’s the easy answer. It’s just good to have summer blockbusters back. I’ve said this for awhile, but I think there’s money to be made in an E.T. reboot, but it’s Stranger Things-esque. Make that shit kinda dark, kinda creepy, and it’s money. Am I the only one clamoring for a sci-fi thriller version of E.T.? Probably, but you can’t convince me that wouldn’t rule.
Question:
I’ve never had Whataburger but keep seeing the sign that they’re comin this fall. My fat kid side is tingling with excitement. Are you also getting pumped?
— Patrick Criswell (@PatCrizzy) July 1, 2021
Answer:
I’ve never had it either, and based on what everyone who has had it is saying and the photos I’ve scoped out, I’m fuckin’ stoked. I want ALL of the burger giants in my backyard – there can never be enough good burger spots in close proximity. I don’t want it to stop at Whataburger – build a Shake Shack in Providence. Bring In n’ Out to town. Re-open the Krystal. I want all the fast food burgers. Real talk: we might have to make a special content trip out to the grand opening of Whataburger.
Question:
How would you survive The Purge?
— Steven McCash (@MC_Cash75) July 1, 2021
Answer:
It’s like everything else – it’s all in how you prepare. For something like The Purge, you gotta get the hell outta Dodge as early as possible. So, let’s say money isn’t an issue. I think the general idea would be to head somewhere remote…I’m talkin’ pretty damn isolated, fortifying the house, and defending it for 24 hours. We’ll call this place “the ranch.” I’m going to secure my most prized possessions about a month prior to The Purge, and take ’em out to the ranch. I’m going to go inspect the ranch’s security features – we’re gonna get some steel plating over the windows, we’re going to reinforce the walls with rebar. Whatever we have to do to make that bitch impregnable. I’m going to make sure we’re good on guns and ammo. And, I’m going to inspect the property for any potential weaknesses in the fence.
Ideally, the ranch would be in an open field so that it would be incredibly difficult to sneak up on. I’m going to get all of the security features up and running a week prior to The Purge, and then I’ll spend some time testing them. Once it’s time, I’m going to get plenty of sleep the day before and try to power through all 24 hours of The Purge. Now, if I’m not fortunate enough to be able to buy some land out in the middle of nowhere, I think I’m just going to pack a bag, and run out into the woods for 24 hours to try my luck in the wilderness.
Keep the questions coming – catch y’all next week!
