Let’s dive into the week that was in college football and hit all the highlights on the SoBros Network’s College Football Roundup.
*Is App State the most electrifying team in college football? I mean, they’ve stolen headlines in each and every week of the season so far. There needs to be a new poll put together where we all just weigh in and measure teams according to their entertainment factor. If we did that, there is no doubt in my mind that App State would be number one – they were apart of that thriller against North Carolina in Week 1, they upset Texas A&M in Week 2, and this past weekend, they beat Troy on a wild Hail Mary play. No one is doing college football the way App State is this season.
*The Georgia offense catching up to its historic defense is not something I had scouted for 2022, but here we are. This is pretty insane. I mean, they’ve allowed 10 points all season, and that is impressive. Don’t get me wrong. But, to see the offense attacking the way that it is right now, with Stetson Bennett averaging 317.3 passing yards per game…shit….how do you beat this team? Are they going to lose a game?
*The USC Trojans are a fascinating team to me. They’ve only played Rice, Stanford, and Fresno State, but the way they’re executing on offense is crisp and precise. I think it’ll translate once their schedule gets a little more difficult. The presence that Caleb Williams gives them at quarterback is something they haven’t had in quite awhile. Jordan Addison is hitting spin moves and juking defenders out of their shoes. Austin Jones and Travis Dye are hammering people. It seems like it’s going to be a relatively quick transition from the Big 12 to the Pac-12 for Lincoln Riley. This team looks like it is going to be a problem.

Not to mention the fact that Dye took a knee directly to the nuts and kept on going. I’ve never seen such a clean shot to the balls. The Fresno State defender fell on his back, knees up, dragging Dye to the ground with him. When Dye ultimately fell, he landed dick-first onto the guy’s knee. It couldn’t have been more accurate, and he was in clear pain. Nonetheless, he got up and kept going. It was amazing. Championship mentality.
*I don’t want to get into any comparison between BYU and Georgia or else I’ll be laughed off of the internet, but I would at least like to ask, “WTF Oregon?” How do the Ducks go from looking completely inept to start the season to pummeling a good BYU team? What do we make of this team right now? I know what I make of them – I make of them that I will not be betting on them week in and week out.
*The College Football Roundup is super light this week because I missed most of the action. It was Gladefest, okay? Can’t miss it. I was out and about all day and didn’t get settled in until the USC-Fresno State game was kicking off. I do want to give shoutouts to Washington State, Tulane, Florida State, Kansas (KANSAS?!?!?!), and Oregon State for starting 3-0 in dramatic fashion when no one expected them to be there.
*Wake Forest busted up a 16-leg parley I had going on Saturday that was previously 14/14. Now, it didn’t matter because LSU ultimately came back and beat Mississippi State, but folks, there’s nothing like the rush of having a 14-game streak going on a 75-cent bet that could’ve paid out $21K. The 16-leg spare change parlay is going to hit one of these weeks. Stay tuned to Tank the 401k.
