What a strange National Championship. I mean…just imagine traveling back to August of 2022 and showing someone this article…telling someone that this year’s National Championship would be held between the Georgia Bulldogs and the TCU Horned Frogs. It just seems so unbelievable. The way the dominos have fallen for TCU definitely give ’em a “team of destiny” kind of vibe. We also know that even in the world of fairy tales and storybook endings, the clock still strikes midnight on Cinderella. So, what we have on deck tonight certainly looks like it’s going to be one of two things. It’s either going to be one of the greatest games and stories in the entire history of college football. Or, the Horned Frogs finally turn into a pumpkin and this one’s a dud.
As a neutral fan for this one, I’m certainly rooting for the story. TCU winning this game would probably be the wildest thing I’ve seen in my lifetime as a college football fan. As it stands right now, Georgia is favored by 13, with a point total set at over/under 63 points. The general public is going to bet TCU like crazy. One, because of the whole “team of destiny” thing. Two, they just want to buy in and root for the story. I’m even seeing national analysts pick TCU in this game, but folks, I’m here to tell you – people are buying in too hard on belief. I don’t buy the argument for Georgia that states, “well, how is TCU going to be able to replicate the effort from the Michigan game?” They did it after having to replicate the energy from the Big 12 Championship game. They’ve done it all season long. I just think it’s a matter of talent, and Georgia is going to make the sports books a ton of money tonight. That’s just my two cents. If I can find Georgia at -12.5, I’m jumping all over it.
Nonetheless, as the internet’s official unofficial kings of the drinking game, you know we had to run it back for this one. I’m going to be cooking up some pizzas, some wings, and I have a bottle of gin on hand to celebrate the occasion from the comfort of my own home. So, don’t be stupid and drink and drive tonight. Enjoy this drinking game responsibly! LFG!

TAKE A DRINK IF/WHEN…
- Someone mentions that TCU was unranked before the season.
- Someone mentions that TCU was projected to finish 7th in the Big 12 before the season.
- Someone calls TCU an underdog.
- The turnover on defense for Georgia is mentioned. Double drink if they refer to the 2021 Georgia defense as “historic.”
- You hear the term “Heisman finalist.” Double drink if anyone mentions how some of us were pissed that Stetson Bennett was invited to New York.
- Someone compliments the turnaround job Sonny Dykes has done. Double drink if they call him a ‘coach of the year’ contender.
- Bennett tucks the ball and rushes.
- Max Duggan takes a deep shot (throws the ball 20+ yards).
- Quentin Johnston catches a pass of 10+ yards.
- Brock Bowers catches a pass.
- A different Georgia Bulldog gets a rushing attempt.
- Emari Demercado touches the ball.
- Kenny McIntosh amasses 10 yards – think fantasy football…one drink for every 10 yards of Kenny McIntosh offense.
- Either kicker makes a field goal.
- Either team registers a sack.
TAKE A SHOT IF/WHEN…
- They actually hit the over (63).
- TCU covers (+13).
- There is a defensive or special teams touchdown. Yes, that means take a shot for each one scored.
- Either quarterback – Duggan or Bennett – puts six total touchdowns on the board.
- The game ends. That’s right, folks. It’s a bittersweet day. We won’t witness another college football game until late August/early September. No matter who your team is, who you were rooting for in this game, or what – raise a glass, make a toast to this wonderful sport we love, and drink to another fun season in the books.
