Fan of Our Site Starts Social Movement in New York, I Guess We Should Take Credit for It?

The saga between James Dolan and Charles Oakley has been a dumpster fire of a story this week, but now we have Rangers fans showing up at MSG, chanting “FREE OAKLEY!” and rising up (unlike the Falcons) when told to hush. Fuck hushing – this is about change. This story’s been picked up by Deadspin, among other blogs, but the guys at Barstool Sports are now calling on Knicks fans to show up like these guys did. The #FreeOakley #FireDolan movement is in full swing, and the ante has just been upped.

Folks, this is what I call The SoBros Difference. I happen to know this dude – and I happen to know he’s a fan of our site. Clearly, we have inspired him to take action and invoke social change. That’s the only logical explanation for his actions. We always tweet out our trendy motivational hashtags like #StayGrinding #RiseAndGrind #BeBetter and #BigAndBeautiful – and, I think we’re finally starting to break through. I think we’re finally starting to reach people with our positive message.

Plus, who doesn’t love to chant? I’m going to the fucking Gladeville Community Center to watch pro wrestling with hillbillies and guess what! I’m going to chant my fat fucking ass off and piss off as many people as I possibly can.

I don’t know how, but New York is our second biggest market. What the rightful fuck? Like 70% of our hits, podcast listens, social media follows, all that stuff comes from Tennessee….then, we get 20% from New York – Brooklyn, specifically. So, I guess this hits close to home? Not sure. I’m not sure how any of this happens.

Regardless, this is a YUGE story up there, but people in Nashville just shrug it off, no clue of the magnitude of this story. Well, Tennessee, you could take a page out of this finance bro’s playbook and STAND THE FUCK UP when a legend’s reputation has been trampled. Oh wait – never mind. We’ve been defending Steve McNair since the day he was shot in his head by his mistress and people tried to say he was a bad dude. The site wasn’t around back then, so I guess I can’t take credit for that?

But, I was definitely the first person to defend him.

“It’s stressful being quarterback of the Titans. Nashville has ferocious sports media…think of the pressure. You have a family you don’t love – but you have to hold it together so everyone stays happy. Think of the things you’d do under those circumstances!”

See? Things that make total sense.

Anyway, I have an inside source that claims the security guard in question DEFINITELY started it. But, it’s definitely NOT the guy in the video who I said was a dear friend of mine and a follower of the site. It’s an anonymous tip – you know how those things work. Really no way to tell who is on the other end of the tip.

By the way, if this guy ever accepts my invitation to write for free for this shitty site, I think ‘Finance Bro’ would be a hilarious pen name to conceal his identity.
