So – to Recap:

Alabama, an underdog, walked into Athens and put down an impressive beating of the highly ranked Georgia Bulldogs.

Florida, who is the only undefeated team in the East, posted an equally impressive beating on an SEC West powerhouse.

Tennessee, Auburn, and Arkansas are all struggling to find an identity….and wins.

I hope all of you enjoy your stay here in 2008.

That’s right gentlemen and the one lady that reads this (hi mom!), we have somehow stumbled through time and space. Luckily, we only landed seven years in the past.

On to the rankings! (The 2015 rankings, not 2008.)

14. Auburn (Last Week – 13, Peak – 3) – The Tigers are lost and it isn’t getting better. Starting freshman Sean White did not help get the offense moving either. Going into their bye week, Auburn has an active QB competition, which isn’t a good sign five weeks into the season.

13. Vanderbilt (Last Week – 14, Peak – 13) – This is my way of apologizing for picking MTSU. I’m sorry. The Commodore defense managed to hold a talented spread offense to only 13 points. A win over the Blue Raiders doesn’t seem like a major win, but it’s one Vanderbilt sorely needed.

12. South Carolina (Last Week – 12, Peak – 11) – The Gamecocks are trending in the wrong direction. With a loss to Missouri, South Carolina has no momentum going forward. It won’t get easier when they have to play a “home” game in Baton Rouge.

11. Tennessee (Last Week – 10, Peak – 6)  – Rumors and collapses are at an all time high on Rocky Top. With another blown lead, this time to Arkansas, the Vols are struggling to find some positives. The dismissal of Pig Howard and rumors of Butch Jones punching a player have the Vols very far from where they hoped to be 5 weeks into the season.

10. Arkansas (Last Week – 11, Peak – 6)  – Even with the Vols struggling, a win in Neyland stadium is still an accomplishment for any team. This holds especially true for Arkansas, who is currently looking to regain some traction. Stopping a three game skid was important, but a trip to Tuscaloosa isn’t very promising.

9. Missouri (Last Week – 9, Peak – 6) – With Maty Mauk on indefinite suspension, true freshman Drew Lock was more than effective against South Carolina. At 4-1, Missouri is still in the hunt for the SEC East title. They’ll be getting a true test from the undefeated Gators this weekend.

8. Mississippi State (Last Week – 6, Peak – 6) – Dak Prescott is still one of the best QB’s in the conference. Unfortunately for Prescott, he doesn’t have the supporting cast to challenge for the West. The Bulldogs are still a solid team, however, they are a few missing pieces away from being a real threat this year.

7. Kentucky (Last Week – 8, Peak – 7) – The Wildcats survived a scare from the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky. With their only loss coming from an undefeated Florida, the Wildcats are rolling with their best season in recent memory. Kentucky will spend it’s bye week preparing for a Thursday night game against Auburn.

6. Georgia (Last Week – 3, Peak – 2) – The Bulldogs learned a valuable lesson on Saturday: don’t run across the field and bark at the opposing team. It might make them angry enough to beat you by 4 touchdowns in your own stadium. Even with the loss, Georgia is still in the race to win SEC. Expect them to play angry against the Vols this weekend.

5. Ole Miss (Last Week – 1, Peak – 1) – Another victim of a lopsided upset, Ole Miss struggled to get going at all against the Gators. The meltdown at the Swamp has many people wondering if the victory at Alabama was a fluke. Ole Miss is still loaded with talent and is a great team, but now remaining games against LSU and A&M are must-wins for the Rebels.

4. Florida (Last Week – 7, Peak – 4)  – In his 5th game as the Gators head coach, Jim McElwain has notched his first (and definitely not last) signature win. The massive upset in a monsoon at the Swamp is one that no Florida fan will soon forget. Now that the Gators are undefeated, they sit at the top of the East and look to be real contenders.

3. Alabama (Last Week – 5, Peak – 1) – Reports of their death have been greatly exaggerated. The Tide came out firing on all cylinders and managed to score from both sides of the ball. Alabama played angry and stalled the Georgia offense, with Nick Chubb breaking 100 yards in garbage time. Nick Saban looks to have to Tide back in the national conversation.

2. Texas A&M (Last Week – 4, Peak – 2) – Undefeated and explosive, the Aggies appear to be a sound and complete team. The offense is full of play makers ready to score at a moment’s notice. The Chavis defense continues to smother offenses. The Aggies enjoy a bye this week where they will prepare for a big showdown with Alabama.

1. LSU (Last Week – 2, Peak – 1) – Leonard Fournette. Do you need anything else?
