The good ol’ U.S. of A. still trying to do things bigger and better than the rest of the world. According to CBS News, the FDA is now looking into people overdosing on diarrhea medication. You can’t make this stuff up.
Bizarre? Definitely. Shocking? No way. There’s a huge drug problem in the U.S….people are trying to get high off of anything.
HEROIN-LIKE HIGHS – out of diarrhea medicine!?! Who thought of this? Who discovered this? Who figured out that taking roughly 30 times the recommended dose, they’d be surfing on the moon? This is precisely why I’m not hiring a detective if I need a crime solved. I’m hiring a drug addict. They really figure things out.
You kind of figure the heart is usually the thing to give out in overdoses, but in this instance, it’s a surprise. I’m more curious as to what that volume of Imodium does to one’s butt.
Many drug overdoses are not reported to the government because the people are homeless. We all know the government hates homeless people.
“Folks that are desperately addicted, folks that are looking to stave off withdrawal symptoms, will do whatever it takes, sometimes, really extreme things,” Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds of the Family and Children’s Association told CBS New York. “So in the scheme of things, taking 300 pills is not unheard of.”
Yeah, when you remember that butt-chugging and soaking tampons in liquor exists in this world, sure – taking THREE HUNDRED PILLS AT ONCE isn’t that crazy.
This is why we can’t have nice things.
Look – I get it. It’s a serious issue. I’ll acknowledge that. I’ve known people that fell into a deep drug addiction. I’ve heard of some not too far out of my social circle succumbing to that addiction (that means they died).
But, at the same time, if someone wants to blow their heart up with diarrhea pills, let ’em do it. Too many damn people in this world, anyway.
