A strong contingent of the American people were pretty rattled when Donald Trump won the United States Presidency. I mean, some people called him sexist and racist, but there really hasn’t been a lot of credible evidence to support that….y’know, it’s not like he’s actually been caught in the act of doing or saying anything derogatory. But, I get it – as majestic of a man as he is, he isn’t for everyone. “Unqualified” was a term thrown around during the election, but that’s what Mike Pence was brought in for.
And, who really is qualified to be President of the United States, amiright?!?!
You needn’t worry, though, America – as Mr. Trump continues to remind us that he’s a smart guy. I think the more he says it, the more I’m starting to really believe it.

It’s recently been reported that the President-elect only receives one briefing per week and on Sunday, he suggested that he is too smart to be given them daily.
Just saying – do you know what happens when you overload a really smart brain? I’m pretty sure it explodes. Haven’t you seen X-Men when Cerebro gets a little too communicative with Professor X? That’s probably what’s going on here. Trump is so smart that he’s running out of room in his brain to put things. So, naturally, it’s going to start giving him a YUGE headache.
“I get it when I need it,” the 70-year-old said in an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. “First of all, these are very good people that are giving me the briefings. And I say, ‘If something should change from this point, immediately call me. I’m available on one minute’s notice.'”
Can we just stop to appreciate the phrase, “I get it when I need it,” the 70-year old said…” for how glorious the innuendo here is?
Last week, Reuters published a report saying that the President-elect was only receiving one briefing per week – far fewer than his predecessors. Still, Mr Trump said that daily briefings are not necessary.
“I’m, like, a smart person,” he explained Sunday. “I don’t have to be told the same thing in the same words every single day for the next eight years. Could be eight years – but eight years. I don’t need that.”
Meanwhile, Mr Trump confirmed that his running mate, Vice President-elect Mike Pence, and his generals are receiving the intelligence briefings more frequently.
Okay – slight tangent here, but I just want to ask….is the idea of Mike Pence running the country a lot more terrifying than the idea of Trump running the country? That’s an interesting debate.
“And I’m being briefed also,” he said, “but if they’re going to come in and tell me the exact same thing that they tell me – you know, it doesn’t change, necessarily.
“Now, there will be times where it might change. I mean, there will be some very fluid situations. I’ll be there not every day, but more than that. But I don’t need to be told, Chris, the same thing every day, every morning – same words. ‘Sir, nothing has changed. Let’s go over it again.’ I don’t need that.””
No one needs that, Don! You got this. You can’t be listening to the same shit over and over. Not when you have a country to run! Just hit the clif notes once a week and be on about your business.
A lot of people are going to get their drawers in a bunch over this, but honestly, I don’t see the issue. It’s just a smart guy doing smart guy things. And when you’re smart, you never have to work a day in your life. I can’t remember who said that, but I’m positive it was some brilliant philosophizer.
