Yeah, no shit, Mr. Announcer! But, man – does it feel good to have college football in our living rooms on Saturdays again or what?! All is right with the world. Of course, that is, unless you’re the Wyoming punter. That was one shitty. ass. punt. Actually, you can’t even call it a punt because that would involve kicking the ball, which the kid clearly did not do. But, I don’t want to rail too hard on the kid…because this play is still funny as hell.
I just love the commentators trying to sort out what happened here. “He bobbled it out of his hand and then he tried to kick it anyway.” Well, yeah – what do you do at that point? You have to try and bomb it. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take! If that thing hits the ground and you didn’t even try to punt it, you look even worse than you do now. Poor kid.
But, look – we’ve all been there before. I’m pretty sure this could end up being a meme or something. “Me trying to handle responsibility” or “Mondays be like…” I don’t know. But, you get the idea – you guys know what memes are.
Regardless, hearts out to this guy. This could end up being the highlight of his career. Also, Wyoming was a sexy pick to upset Iowa, but it was plays like this that led to them actually getting whooped 24-3.
