The Survivor Series Card Is Absolutely Stacked – Preview and Predictions

I know, I know – we’ve been down this road several times before. The WWE will put together one hell of a card, but it won’t deliver. We all get our hopes only to have them crushed. But, this year’s Survivor Series just feels different. It feels special. There really isn’t a bad match on the card, and it could end up being the best show of the year.

Like most years, I’ve been pretty well lost in football season since September, but I always make time to tune back in come November. Survivor Series is low-key one of my favorite WWE shows of the year. It’s the unofficial start to the holiday season, and I always enjoy getting together with friends, eating some good food, drinking some brews, and watching the show. Maybe that’s part of the allure, or maybe yeah – they just put forth a hell of an effort in building the show this year.

Let’s stop being sappy and get to the damn preview:

Brock Lesnar vs. A.J. Styles – This is a veritable dream match for a lot of people, but I still say it’s going to be hard to pull off. Styles is one of those guys, like Finn Balor, who just plain looks too small to pose a real threat to Lesnar. The company obviously thinks pretty highly of the Styles, so who knows? Regardless, it has to be better than Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal would have been. Like most of his matches, Lesnar is the favorite here and I expect him to win it.

Team Raw (Kurt Angle, Triple H, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe) vs. Team SmackDown (Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, John Cena, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura) – This is crazy. Just flat out absurd. So many possibilities – this could be the catalyst for both a Jason Jordan heel turn and Angle vs. Triple H. John Cena is back. Shane McMahon’s probably going to do something crazy. And, good for Bobby Roode! This one should be a classic. I’m going with Team Smackdown getting the victory after the bond breaks down between Team Raw.

The Shield vs. The New Day – If you would’ve told me back in January that The Shield vs. The New Day would be thing….at all…ever….I would call you crazy. Much less, in 2017. This could be a main event on a lesser pay-per-view. I expect The Shield to win, but wouldn’t be surprised if this was the curveball finish of the show and The New Day won.

Cesaro & Sheamus vs. The Usos – I think these are probably the two best (healthy) tag teams in the WWE right now (shout out to The Revival). Everything these two teams touch turns to gold, so I expect this to be yet another classic tag bout. These is the best possible option they could’ve put together to showcase the tag team division. I think they give the nod to The Usos.

Cruiserweight Championship: Enzo Amore vs. Kalisto – I don’t even know who to call in this match. I honestly forgot it was even happening. I’m gonna say Enzo because who cares?

Team Raw (Alicia Fox, Nia Jax, Asuka, Bayley, Sasha Banks) vs. Team SmackDown (Becky Lynch, Carmella, Naomi, Tamina, and TBA) – Team Raw has more proven talent with three former Women’s Champions and the dominant Asuka and Nia Jax, so I have a hard time imagining they’ll lose. Still, this should be a fun one.

The Miz vs. Baron Corbin – Corbin could probably use the win. It makes sense and The Miz loses nothing by putting him over.

Alexa Bliss vs. Charlotte Flair – This is the right matchup for the Women’s Division. The two cornerstones of each brand’s division going at it. Bliss has been on a hell of a ride in 2017, and no woman has been more consistent than Flair. This is a veritable Wrestlemania caliber match, and I expect they keep Bliss’ slimy heel run going with a W.

I’m pumped. See y’all Sunday.
