Gah, the worst part of the holidays is always that period a day or two afterwards when you have to go back to the real world. I took last Tuesday and Wednesday off of work, so I’ve had a solid six days of spending time with my family, eating, tossing back a few beers, decorating for the holidays, etc. etc. The point is, I couldn’t, mentally, have been further removed from the day job. And, yes, I still have to go to a day job because our following isn’t quite big enough to support us, nor have I managed our merchandise/inventory situation particularly well, but that’s neither here nor there. Hopefully, I don’t have too many more of these holidays to come back to a job I hate. But, that day is not today…nope, today, I sit here preparing the day’s articles like this yelling dog:
Dude, same. Totally same.
I am upset, but I don’t want to conform to society’s typical manner of whining. Every other dog is barking, but I want to be the one who’s just yelling. Just blaring my soul out in no conceivable manner. I’m just making noise to make noise.
That’s what I love about this dog. He has no idea how to bark. Hopefully, he’s not trying to communicate to the other dogs, because I don’t know if they’re going to understand him. But, that doesn’t matter. The ferocity in this “howl” is felt regardless.
I think there’s a little bit of all of us in this dog – hope your trip back to work this morning is a little more painless than mine.
