In case you missed it, Oklahoma Sooners quarterback and Heisman frontrunner, Baker Mayfield, did not start against West Virginia on Saturday. This came as punishment for his grabbing his dick and shouting ‘fuck you’ at the Kansas sideline the week before. Because apparently, no one gets under your skin quite like those cagey 1-10 Jayhawks.
Let’s see how that game started without Mayfield:

Wait – what is this? Did Mayfield die? Did I miss that bit of breaking news? I mean, this is such a touching tribute…isn’t this what they do when somebody dies or something?
You’re telling me they brought his jersey out to midfield because he was reprimanded for grabbing his junk? Like, they’re celebrating their noble leader? Talk about a flair for the dramatic. I get that it’s Senior Day…it’s his last college home game, yadda yadda yadda. But, come on. This is laughable. The Sooners providing a full-on ‘in memoriam’ type of display at midfield.
Oh, and if you’re wondering, I do think it’s ludicrous that there was such an outrage about this. I read that some Heisman voters were even considering pulling their vote for him because of the Kansas shenanigans. Unbelievable – if y’all think this type of stuff isn’t happening on every football field every Saturday in America, you’re just flat out naive.
Mayfield has a bit of an edge to him. That’s safe to say. But, I’ve grown to root for the kid in the same manner that I root for Lane Kiffin. Probably a douche…maybe…but this is all certainly good for #content.
