Super Bowl LII kicks off 5:30 CST on Sunday in Minneapolis, Minnesota. While the Tennessee Titans aren’t playing in the game, there are still a handful of former Titans that will be playing.
AFC Champion New England Patriots
Kenny Britt – Crazy to think that after all that happened here in Nashville, Britt is still playing in the NFL. He was a Titan from 2009-13, before joining the Rams from 2014-16. Britt spent the bulk of this season playing for the Cleveland Browns, but the Pats scooped him up in December. Now, he finds himself playing for a Super Bowl title. Pretty amazing.
At one point, people legitimately thought Britt would be the next Randy Moss. He’s that athletically gifted. Some of those games early on in his career, he looked unstoppable. I guess that if the best franchise in football signs you, they still see some of that talent.
NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles
LeGarrette Blount – Looking back, I have no Earthly idea how you release Blount. Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon in 2010, Blount was demoted to the practice squad early into that season, but didn’t clear waivers. Tampa Bay snatched him up and he spent three seasons there before stints with the Steelers, Patriots (where he won two Super Bowls), and now the Eagles.
But, how did Jeff Fisher and company not recognize Blount’s talent? How do you let him slip away? Can you imagine a backfield consisting of Blount and Chris Johnson in his prime?
Chance Warmack – Titans fans had some high hopes for Warmack when he was the first round pick back in 2013. He never really panned out at guard, so the Titans moved on from him. He landed in Philadelphia where he serves as backup left guard.
