Nothing Is More Annoyingly Nashville Than Florida Georgia Line Playing the Titans Uniform Release Party

The Tennessee Titans fan base has been abuzz for months now in anticipation of the team updating their uniforms. I may be in the minuscule minority here, but I don’t actually mind the current uniforms. I do wish they’d sprinkle some more red in there. Maybe not full color rush red, but bring back those red jerseys.

We knew the reveal was coming in April. But, we just didn’t know how. Well, in the most Nashville news of all time, the Titans are just going to throw a big party to unveil these bad boys. Hell, it’s what we do best, so why not, right? I’m down to turn a random Wednesday into a shindig.

During an event for season ticket members at Opryland Hotel on Saturday night, the Titans announced big plans for the unveiling of the team’s new uniforms in April.

A special event has been planned for Wednesday, April 4 in downtown Nashville. The program will start at 7 p.m. on a stage on Broadway by First Avenue, with Nissan Stadium serving as the backdrop.

Hell yeah! Let’s do this!

That’s when current and former players, as well as other members of the organization, will take part in a ceremony showcasing the new uniforms. Following the unveiling of the new uniforms, country duo Florida Georgia Line will take the stage and perform a concert for fans.

Wait….what? FGL? You mean the band? Not, like, this is going to be held at FGL House?

“We wanted to create a unique event for the new uniform unveiling in April,” said Amy Adams Strunk, Titans Controlling Owner. “Being in Nashville, it only made sense to include a concert and we are thrilled Florida Georgia Line has agreed to join us. This will be a fun show for our fans – they will get to see the new uniforms and enjoy a terrific concert. It should be a special night for our franchise and I am looking forward to it.”

Okay, yeah – the band. Okay. I mean….

A. It’s free of charge.
B. It’s open to the public.
C. The Titans will unveil their new uniforms.
D. We do…kind of…cover the Tennessee Titans, don’t we?

Shit – guess I’m going to have to go. I don’t really have a choice. But, I’m just going to be vocal about the fact that I don’t like this. I don’t feel good about myself for doing this.

I was a big FGL fan at first, I’ll admit. But, the only thing that changed over time was that they dug themselves deeper into the bro country hole. At this point, they may as well be a boy band.

And, Nashville – I understand that we have to market ourselves in a certain way to keep those tourism dollars coming in. But, this is an event for locals. How many locals do you know who hear FGL and don’t roll their eyes? There are a million options in this story that don’t make Nashville some hokey gimmick.

Like I said, I’ll be there covering the event. I don’t blame you if you skip out. And, if you do…don’t worry. Big Joe has you covered:

Now you know what you’ll be missing out on should you choose to stay in and enjoy a nice glass of brandy instead. Oh, the Music City.
