I’ve never understood skateboarding in crowded public places. I mean, how is that even fun? You’re having to navigate a sea of people. It’s not like public facilities are designed with skateboarding in mind anyway. I guess you don’t have a lot of options, but there’s so much opportunity for shit to go sideways, that I don’t think I’d ever feel comfortable just skating around in public. Take this encounter for instance:

Man, the state of the Internet these days….it can be a damn dark place. Have to be careful scrolling through Instagram to scope out these viral videos. You never know what you’re going to see. It’s something you kind of have to develop a careful sense of desensitization towards. That’s a rare serious glimpse into what we do here.
But, there’s a part of me that thought, “this motherfucker’s going to give this man a hard time, and I’m going to feel really bad for watching this.”
Thankfully, that’s not how the story went. JUST when we all thought that gross looking dude was going to crack that skateboard across that old man’s back, we get a huge plot twist.
He asks him if he has insurance. Asks him if he’s okay….and then the two presumably go about their way.
What a huge win for the punk skateboarder community. This could’ve turned into an episode of Jackass, but instead, the kid showed compassion and respect for his elders. There’s a lesson to learn here, folks.
Here’s a link to the original post in case IG takes the video off the blog.
