It appears that Bellator is at it again y’all. It looks like the fighting organization that gave us Kimbo Slice/DaDa 5000 has busted open the checkbook. This time, to bring in one of the most popular fighters of all time: Chuck Liddell.

Chuck “Fucking” Liddell! The Iceman may be coming out of retirement and, of course, he could be heading to Bellator. Chuck is a legend and an absolute warrior but hasn’t fought in nearly eight years. His last three fights were all knockout losses. By the time he actually steps into a cage again, he’ll be closing in on his 49th birthday.
I mean the last time he looked like THE Chuck Liddell was back in 2007 when he went toe to toe with Wanderlai Silva in an absolute barnburner. All of this would keep most promotions from signing Chuck, but not Bellator. They live for this shit. We’re talking about the same promotion where Chael Sonnen is 1-0 in their Heavyweight Grand Prix. The same promotion that had Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock as a main event in 2016.
Signing Liddell is exactly something Bellator would be interested in. And, if I’m being honest, I’m kind of all about it. I’m hoping this is a multi million dollar, one fight deal with the sole intention being for Chuck to slap Tito Ortiz around one more time.
There are plenty of other matchups they could make for Chuck with Fedor, Chael and Wanderlai all on the roster but the moneymaker is Chuck/Tito III. In two previous matchups we had plenty of shit talk from both fighters and two ass whoopings laid down by Liddell. Both men have said for years that they would agree to a third fight so, assuming this Chuck to Bellator deal is real, it’s only a matter of time.
