I watched a little bit of the Oscars last night. Seemed like a decent enough show, but I was tired as shit, and filled my belly with Thai food, so come 7:45PM, I was out like a light. Welcome to 31, I guess. Still, from what I did see, and from catching up on Brandon‘s live-tweeting, it seemed like a decent enough show.
Couldn’t be more thrilled for a guy like Sam Rockwell, who has had an electric career. Seriously, one of Hollywood’s most underrated talents. I also just can’t get enough of the #HANDSOME gentleman, Gary Oldman, so I was ecstatic to see him get a W.
Pumped for Jordan Peele – Get Out was awesome, and I really didn’t think he had a chance at this one. And, of course, if you’re as big a fan of fish-fuckin’ as I am, then well you’ve got to be jubilant for Guillermo Del Toro and The Shape of Water.
But, one bit of news coming out of the Oscars I didn’t see coming:
The Oscars are in full swing, but the award show isn’t just bringing out gold statues and celebs in Hollywood … herpes are also running amok.
According to a rep from HerpAlert — an online diagnosis and treatment website for the STD — there’s been a spike in folks looking to get treated for herpes this weekend … which just so happens to fall in line with the 90th annual Academy Awards.
Is anyone surprised by this, though? You get a bunch of beautiful people together in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills – they’re bound to start fuckin’ and such. It’s just an inevitability like the sun coming up and Sean Bean getting killed in whatever movie/show he’s in.
The article also mentions that the last time HerpAlert saw such a spike was the NBA All-Star Game. Guess nothin’ gets people going like awards shows and dunk contests.
And, here’s your reminder to do the sex safely out there, folks.
