NFL futures season is in full swing and, at least according to OddsShark, the Houston Texans are the favorite to win the AFC South in 2018:

Pretty tough call if you ask me. Honestly, if Deshaun Watson doesn’t get injured, the AFC South shakes down much differently last season. The dude was having an astronomical rookie season, but the team that’s usually known for its defense wasn’t really helping him out. Houston has one of the most talented rosters in the AFC, but I don’t know that they run the gauntlet to the AFC Championship the way the Jags did. But, I also think the AFC is much more interesting with a healthy Watson.
He’ll be back in 2018. Whether or not he continues his streak of magnificent performances is still a mystery. But, the Texans have questions regardless. Hell, that’s the thing about the AFC South. Every team has plenty of questions.
Are the Jaguars really confident behind Blake Bortles? Can that defense possibly produce an encore after being one of the two best defenses in football last year? What about the Titans? New head coach, an offense that regressed in 2017. The Colts? Is Andrew Luck ever going to be healthy?
But, people are acting outraged that the Titans are at +400 alongside the Colts. While I do think they should’ve gotten a little more love than that, it wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see them finish third in this division. That said, I also wouldn’t be surprised for them to win it either.
The best thing to do with this information may be to steer clear of betting on it altogether. Still, you won’t get much argument out of me with the Texans being the favorite at this point in the year.
