As many of you know, we made the daunted two-hour journey down to Chattanooga so that “Nature Boy” Brandon Vick could cover the Chattanooga Film Festival. But, while we were down there, we took the opportunity to try out some new spots and old favorites alike. It’s officially Chattanooga Week here on SoBros Network.

No trip to Chattanooga is complete without stopping for Clumpie’s Ice Cream. I’ve been eager to get an official review of this place up for a year now, and am happy we made the effort to do so over the weekend. Besides, what’s more masculine than grown ass men reviewing ice cream?
So, we started the afternoon at Tremont Tavern. And, everyone knows that no meal is complete without a little ice cream dessert. But, when in Chattanooga, you don’t just get ice cream. You get Clumpies Ice Cream.
First of all, Clumpies has introduced their Spring flavors, and quite frankly, there were too many for us to tackle.

But, I elected to go with a mint julep milkshake. It was a masterpiece – easily the best flavor I’ve had in the many years I’ve been going to Chattanooga. Cold-steeped mint provided cool refreshment in an otherwise decadent blend of vanilla ice cream and a caramel bourbon sauce. It was everything I could ask for in a milkshake.

“Nature Boy” Brandon Vick tried the Curious George flavor…no….it did not taste like a monkey. It was a blend of chocolate, banana, peanut butter cups, and peanut butter swirls. But, you can see Brandon’s full review below.
As for Cadbury, he went with the Nutella Crunch, and loaded about four scoops into a giant waffle cone. It was tremendous – looked like a solid two pounds of ice cream. But, he absolutely loved it, and I came away impressed by his ability to put away frozen dairy treats.
Rating: 9.5/10. It’s a veritable institution of Chattanooga, and the only reason I didn’t give it a 10 is because I don’t like giving out 10s.
