Tennessee Titans training camp is underway, and holy shit – does it feel good to have football back or what? I wasn’t at practice today. Namely, because I don’t have press credentials. Apparently, they don’t just give those out freely. I’m not sure why – I have written such classics as:
The Titans Coaching Staff Needs to Work on Their Steel Chair Shots
Priceless: Titans Facebook Trying to Figure Out If Corey Davis Is Holding up a Gang Sign in This Photo…
Real Journalism: Did Titans CB Logan Ryan Convince Paul Kuharsky to Buy a Bop-it Over the Weekend?
It’s safe to say that no one has their finger on the pulse of the Titans like I do. So, I’m really not sure why I don’t have a permanent media pass. They should even let me watch film with the coaches, and maybe even have ice cream with Kevin Byard. Anyway, I also have a day job…that’s a real obstacle in my attending training camp daily, too. It’s shocking, I know, but this site isn’t making enough money yet for me to walk away from a shoot job. It is making enough for me to afford enough pizza to feed our entire team at our quarterly business summits, though.
Also, it doesn’t help that I can’t, for the life of me, figure out how to even apply for press passes with the Titans.
Wait – what was I writing about here today? Oh, yeah! Titans training camp started up today. Not sure that I’ll be able to get to these highlight pieces every day, but I’ll do my best to keep you guys in tune with what’s going on with the team.
LFG!

This is so prototypical Marcus Mariota that it’s not even funny. I mean, is anyone surprised that he’s the first guy out there?! Just a big time leader doing big time leader things. Apparently, Luke Falk was the second on the field, and I don’t really know what that means.

Malcolm Butler was one of the big stories of the day. The dude won all of his 1v1 drills, and multiple Titans writers said that the guy looks like the real deal. I’m going to try and write a full length post on it, but his presence along with the other DBs should help make this Titans receiving corps even better. But, with one practice (and, albeit it’s only one practice) in the books, Butler is showing why the Titans gave him all them monies.
Alright some more notes from earlier at #Titans practice…
Near the end of practice Corey Davis made the catch of the day. Outstretched one-handed grab in the back corner of the end zone for the score. Ridiculous stuff reminiscent of his first TD in the playoffs.

Everyone’s expecting Davis to have a breakout year. Freak catches are apart of that. We need to see more of his physical abilities winning contested catches, so this is certainly encouraging. Plus, it was just a damn good catch to see.
#Titans coach Mike Vrabel said Darius Jennings had a good spring and they would like to carve out a role on special teams to enhance his chances of making the roster.

Damn, it’s only day one and my preseason prediction of Jordan Veasy being that training camp stud is falling by the wayside. One of these developmental guys is going to sneak up and steal a roster spot. Whether it’s Jennings, Veasy, Deontay Burnett, or someone else. There’s an opportunity to be had there.

Awesome to hear Michael Griffin is back with the Titans as a coaching intern. Big fan of that dude.
A very odd moment at @titans practice between Taylor Lewan and the OL coach who was not happy with his effort. Language from both dictate this was NOT a playful moment, IMO. pic.twitter.com/dqHFAC0ARX

Dad can get a little feisty out there – hard to blame him for that. Lewan and Keith Carter reportedly talked things out for about 30 minutes after practice, and all’s well now. Just an interesting bit of camp drama, but this thing’s already been put to bed.
PS. Props to Big Joe for grabbing this incident on video. This is just the type of journalism that could land him a nomination for 2018 SoBro of the Year.
