Ah, it feels good, folks. List season is behind us. No more Throwback Thursday posts to deal with for a while. Training camp has started, and that can only mean one thing: we have some fresh new #content to write about. As I said, it feels good.
Do I have press credentials from the Titans? No. Do I have a day job that prevents me from attending training camp regularly? Yes. But, thankfully, it’s 2018, and I don’t need to be there to obtain information and provide meaningful football analysis and insight with the advent of social media.
Take this gem, for instance. Many are eagerly anticipating this year’s running back battle between Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis. The focus is solely on the backs. But, my immaculate football mind can’t help but notice the Titans coaching staff putting in some sloppy work here.

One of the first rules of becoming an advanced master of pro wrestling is executing a basic steel chair shot. I understand the physics are going to be a little wonky, because it’s training camp, and you don’t want to use a real steel chair at the risk of injuring a player. But, this is just sloppy coaching. Extremely lackadaisical on the wind-up, and the delivery is incredibly low impact.
You could hit a small child like that, and they’d just stand there and look at you like you were a wimp.
But, if the Titans running backs are going to be prepared to take a chair shot on the field, they’re going to need as close to the real thing as they can get. Maybe Jon Robinson and Mike Vrabel should consider bringing in Stone Cold Steve Austin, Tommy Dreamer, or Sabu to help with running back drills.
I know it’s only day one, and there’s plenty of training camp to go. But, these Titans coaches need to step up their pro wrestling game if they want to get this team ready for Miami.
