I Want to Know What $98,000 Worth of Ramen Noodles Looks Like

I’ve always been a big fan of Ramen Noodles. In fact, that’s basically what gave me sustenance throughout my entire college career. It’s also probably what led to my poor general health in recent years, but that’s neither here nor there. Fact is, even to this day, knowing how bad they are for me, I still have to sneak in a bowl or two from time to time. What I’m not a big fan of is crime, and taking things that don’t belong to you. That’s where this post is going to get a little weird, as theft and Ramen intersect.

Police in Georgia are looking for some crooks who made off with nearly $100,000 worth of Ramen Noodles.

Deputies in Fayette County say the thieves stole the 53-foot trailer packed with the noodles about two weeks ago, Fox 5 Atlanta reports. The theft is just one of a string of thefts deputies believe are related.

NBC affiliate WXIA did the math to see exactly how many packs of Ramen the thieves made off with.

  • The driver of the truck estimated there were $98,000 worth of noodles in the back.
  • A 48 pack of Ramen at Sam’s Club costs about $9
  • That means 520,000 packs of Ramen Noodles were stolen

WXIA says no arrests have been made so far.

I. have. questions.

Namely, did the thieves know what was in the trailer when they took it? If not, man – what goes through your head when you break in and find 520,000 packs of Ramen Noodles?!?!

Or, did they know it was Ramen, and that was their aim all along? Because if that’s the case, I need to know what’s in Ramen that makes it worth the risk. Like, could you move 520,000 packs of Ramen on the black market for good chunk of change? Some big drug cartel dealing with Ramen these days? I don’t know.

Plus, that’s so much Ramen – I just want to see it, stacked a mile high into the air. I can’t even fathom what that would look like. I mean, duh, obviously the shape of the trailer it was in would be a good indicator. But, my imagination wants something more creative.

Build a castle out of that shit.
