Story time with Big Natural, folks. Gather ’round. We’re going to revisit my beer pong days in light of this video surfacing out there on the internet.
As usual, here’s a link in case Instagram takes this video down.

So, if you don’t already know the rule, if you get two balls in one cup (hehe), it’s game over. It’s pretty rare if you play like most folks do and allow people to remove a cup once a shot is made. Some people make a rule that you can’t remove a cup until your opponent’s turn is over, but in my experience, that’s pretty uncommon. More often than not, you’re going to play in a game where people are pulling cups as soon as a shot is made, which makes this dude’s shot all the more impressive.
And, I can honestly say – making a shot like this is a complete adrenaline rush.
How do I know? Well, kids – it’s because one time, I made one of these shots. It was 2012 – we used to gather once a year for a big beer pong tournament. Made a big trophy for it and everything. Usually, we had 8-10 teams, but in the final years of the tournament, it grew to as many as 16 teams. That’s a full-blown King of the Ring bracket.
But, in 2012, there were eight teams. My partner and I were bounced in the semifinals of the tournament, and were so relegated to the bronze title game. We were playing “Nature Boy” Brandon Vick and his partner, friend of the site Andrew. These dudes ran the tournament in 2010, and were the first duo to put their name on our trophy (The Coors Light Cup).
It’s getting down to the nitty gritty with the bronze on the line. My partner (in life and in beer pong) makes her shot. We were at a veritable standstill at this point in the game. Both sides had approximately four cups left, and we were nearing a point in the game when someone was capable of going on a real run. I didn’t want us to fall victim to that. So, when Andrew reached down to seize the cup, I saw my opportunity to end the game.
In a split second, I made up my mind, committed, and tossed the ball. It hit Andrew’s knuckle, popped up into the air, and fell down into the cup. The room erupted as we became bronze medal champions of the Coors Light Cup Tournament. Handshakes.
It was the finest achievement of my athletic career – maybe even in my entire life.
I miss beer pong – haven’t played in a while. Maybe once we get a physical SoBros HQ somewhere, we can bring back the glory of the Coors Light Cup.
