Pretty fun little contest between the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Red Raiders of Texas Tech down in Lubbock over the weekend. Will Grier and company jumped out to a 21-0 lead, but Texas Tech engineered a hell of a rally to bring it within eight points. Ultimately, it wasn’t enough as the game ended 42-34 in favor of West Virginia, who is piecing together on hell of a season so far.
But, one of the best clips of the entire weekend came out of this game as one of the Red Raiders defensive linemen threw one piss poor attempt at a haymaker.

Yikes. I don’t know what the opposite of a one hitter quitter is called, but that’s damn sure what it looks like. This was Texas Tech’s game plan in a nutshell, by the way. Time to go up against the big boys, and you can’t even make ’em wince. Look at home boy just shimmy and juke in response.
That is immensely more disrespectful than swinging back. He is not only completely unafraid of you, but he is standing in your face mocking your ass. Kliff Kingsbury is out their coaching for his life, and this is what he has to deal with? It’s no wonder he’s on the hot seat. Yeesh.
Also, yes – we’re now including West Virginia with the “big boys” of the Big 12.
